Nick Lodolo Makes Opening Day Roster
3 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Nick Lodolo has made the team's Opening Day roster and will join the team this week on the road against the Atlanta Braves. The left-handed pitching prospect will make his major league debut on April 13 on the road against the Cleveland Guardians. With Luis Castillo and Mike Minor both opening the year on the injured list with shoulder injuries, the 24-year-old southpaw will open the season as Cincy's No. 5 hurler. Lodolo has plenty of long-term upside as a front-of-the-rotation arm for the Reds, but he won't carry much redraft value in 2022, and there's a good chance he's sent to the minor leagues once one of Castillo or Minor are ready to make their season debut.
