Ravens Won't Rule Out Taking RB In The Draft
3 years agoBaltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said he doesn't see any first-round running backs in this year's draft class, but he isn't ruling out taking one on Day 2 or Day 3 of the draft. "If the right guy falls, we will certainly strike," DeCosta said. The Ravens may have learned their lesson in 2021 that you just can't have enough running backs on the roster. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards were both injured before the start of the regular season and missed the entire year, forcing the team to turn to veterans Devonta Freeman, Latavius Murray and Le'Veon Bell. Both Dobbins and Edwards could begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, so a Day 2 RB could have a decent-sized early down role in the Ravens backfield.
