3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins are "working to acquire" starting pitcher Chris Paddack from the San Diego Padres, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Although Rosenthal's tweet implies that a deal has not been finalized, it suggests that talks are gaining steam and this is more than mere interest. Paddack's name has been on the market for a little while, and he was listed as a potential target for the Mets if they traded Dominic Smith. (Spoiler alert: they didn't.) Regardless, Paddack, a former top prospect, is looking to bounce back from a 2021 campaign in which he went 7-7 with a 4.73 xERA, 1.26 WHIP, .274 xBA, .332 xwOBA, 21.6 percent strikeout rate, and 4.8 percent walk rate. Assuming this deal is finalized and Paddack carves out a key role in the Twins' rotation, he should have some fantasy value.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
