3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (neck) is still being evaluated. He still has a chance to start on Opening Day on Thursday against the Washington Nationals, but he could also sit out a few days or hit the injured list, according to manager Buck Showalter. We probably won't know for sure until Thursday, but Showalter was optimistic on Nimmo on Tuesday. Regardless, the 29-year-old shouldn't have to miss much time to begin the season if he's not in the lineup on Thursday. He was able to take batting practice and shag fly balls on Wednesday, a day after receiving a cortisone injection. Nimmo doesn't have a ton of power, but he's an excellent fantasy asset on on-base-percentage leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
