Saints Sign J.P. Holtz
3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints signed free-agent tight end J.P. Holtz to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday. Holtz will add depth to the position for New Orleans after spending the last two years with the Chicago Bears. The 28-year-old had just one target in the last two seasons and has seven reception for 91 yards on nine targets in three NFL seasons. Holtz went undrafted out of Pittsburgh and is likely to continue serving mainly as a blocker whenever he gets into a game. Taysom Hill is moving from quarterback to tight end this year, giving the Saints another option at the position alongside Adam Trautman, Nick Vannett and Juwan Johnson.
