Texans Sign Brandin Cooks To Two-Year Deal
3 years agoThe Houston Texans and wide receiver Brandin Cooks agreed to a two-year deal on Thursday. The firm numbers of the deal aren't available yet, but Cooks should be able to earn just under $20 million per year through the 2024 season. A lot of folks expected Cooks to be dealt this offseason, but he'll stay in Houston for another two years instead. The 28-year-old had the sixth 1,000-yard season of his career in 2021 with rookie quarterback Davis Mills starting the majority of the season. He finished with a career-high 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and six touchdowns on a career-high 134 targets. Cooks has reached 1,000 yards now in six of his eight NFL seasons, and he should once again be a target hog in the Texans offense in 2022.
