3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill earned his first victory of the season in the club's 5-1 Opening Day win over the Nationals. The 26-year-old tossed five-shutout innings while allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six in the 68-pitch performance. He only ran into trouble in the third inning by putting runners on the corners with one out, but he was able to strike out Juan Soto and get Nelson Cruz to groundout to end the inning. Megill showed us some promise through his first 18 starts in the majors a year ago, and he has now undoubtedly put his name on the radar for managers in 12-team formats. The right-hander will face a tougher test in his next outing versus the Phillies, but he's a name to at least keep on your watchlist.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
