3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo is getting the Opening Day start in center field and is batting seventh on Friday against Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito. Robbie Grossman and Austin Meadows are Detroit's other outfielders to kick off the season. Top prospect Riley Greene (foot) is the favorite to be the team's starting center fielder eventually, but he'll be out for multiple months with a fractured foot. Victor Reyes is the other option in center, but he'll open the year as the fourth outfielder for now. Baddoo could sit against lefties, but his fantasy arrow is pointing up after hitting .259/.330/.436 with 13 home runs, 55 RBI, 60 runs and 18 stolen bases in 124 games in his rookie season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
