Clayton Kershaw To Debut On Wednesday
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins on the road. The Dodgers wanted to get him built up as much as possible, and Kershaw faced hitters on Thursday (five innings worth). Walker Buehler is getting the Opening Day nod on Friday against the Colorado Rockies, with Tony Gonsolin and Julio Urias finishing off the opening series in Colorado. Kershaw is fully healthy after missing the postseason last year, so he shouldn't be restricted at all in Minnesota. The Twins aren't the easiest matchup out there, but it's better than pitching at hitter-friendly Coors Field to open the season.
