Kyle Schwarber Begins His Philly Career With A Bang
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber made a good first impression with his new team, hitting a home run to lead off Friday's Opening Day matchup against the Oakland Athletics. He later added a walk and an RBI single, helping the club in their 9-5 victory. Schwarber looks to be a valuable addition to the Phillies lineup. He had a nice Spring Training, producing a .895 OPS despite his .207 batting average and crushed three home runs in the process. Last season, the slugger slashed .266/.374/.554 with 32 HRs, 76 runs, 71 RBI, and one stolen base across 113 games. Now that Schwarber plays in one of the friendliest ballparks for hitters, he should be able to keep the momentum going from 2021.
