Myles Straw Signs Five-Year Extension
3 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians and outfielder Myles Straw agreed on a five-year, $25 million contract extension on Saturday. Cleveland could potentially keep Straw in town through the end of the 2028 season if they exercise their two team options. Straw came over from the Houston Astros in an in-season trade last year and wound up hitting .285 with 13 steals in 60 games with Cleveland. The Guardians have indicated that they view Straw as a core piece of their team moving forward. Straw is the second Cleveland player to sign an extension to remain in town as Jose Ramirez was extended earlier in the week.
