3 years agoDetroit Tigers relief pitcher Andrew Chafin (groin) threw a light bullpen session on Saturday in Lakeland, Florida, according to manager A.J. Hinch. The bullpen session was the best that Chafin has had this spring, even before his groin injury landed him on the 10-day injured list. "Trending in the right direction," Hinch said. It's unclear when the 31-year-old veteran left-hander will return to make his season debut, but he appears to be making good progress. With the Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics last year, Chafin had a 1.83 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, five saves, 64 strikeouts and 19 walks in 68 2/3 relief innings over 71 appearances out of the bullpen.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
