3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Blake Snell (groin) is probably headed to the injured list, but manager Bob Melvin said Snell's adductor injury isn't nearly as serious as the one that shut the left-hander down last September. The 29-year-old was scratched from his season debut on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks with adductor tightness, and he'll miss at least the next 10 days, if not more. Snell was a disappointment in his first year in San Diego and also dealt with injuries, finishing 7-6 with a 4.20 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while posting a 30.9% strikeout rate and 12.6% walk rate in 128 2/3 innings over 27 starts. The strikeouts are nice, but his walk rate was the highest since his rookie season in 2016, and the injuries have become a real problem. MacKenzie Gore looked like he might've finally turned a corner this spring, and the left-hander should be picked up immediately in fantasy leagues if he's available.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
