3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler (shoulder) is listed as the team's probable starter on Tuesday against the New York Mets, which would be his season debut after dealing with right shoulder soreness in the offseason and in spring training. The 31-year-old right-hander may be on a strict pitch count around 70-75 pitches, though, so fantasy managers should temper their expectations in his first start of 2022. Wheeler last threw in Florida on April 7 and went 60-65 pitches. If he can get past his shoulder issues early on, Wheeler could yet again be a fantasy ace after posting a career-low 2.78 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, a career-best 29.1% strikeout rate and a 5.4% walk rate in a league-high 213 1/3 innings over 32 starts last year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
