Tommy La Stella Resumes Baseball Activities
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Tommy La Stella (Achilles) has resumed baseball activities and is taking ground balls, hitting and running. La Stella begin the season on the injured list as he recovers from surgery on his Achilles last October. He was extremely limited in spring training and will surely require a rehab assignment in the minor leagues before he'll make his season debut in the big leagues. The 33-year-old veteran will continue to serve as a utility man at second and third base once he's healthy. La Stella hit .250/.308/.405 with seven home runs, 27 RBI and 26 runs scored in 242 plate appearances over 76 games in his first year with the Giants in 2021. He'll likely only be useful for infield depth in NL-only leagues.
