3 years agoPittsburgh Penguins forwards Bryan Rust and Evan Rodrigues made just small cameos in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Islanders after they tried to play through an illness. Rust took just two shifts before calling it a night and Rodrigues settled for 6:27 of ice time before exiting in the middle of the first period. The Penguins were also without the suspended Evgeni Malkin, so they ended up doing a mightily impressive job by getting a point on the board. There's a rematch with the Islanders scheduled for Thursday, meaning Rust and Rodrigues won't have a lot of time to recover.
