3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates and center fielder Bryan Reynolds agreed to a two-year contract extension to avoid salary arbitration on Thursday, according to a source familiar with the deal. The 27-year-old is Super 2 eligible and won't reach free agency until after the 2025 season. Reynolds was the subject of some trade rumors this offseason, but he ultimately stayed put (for now) and has gotten off to a slow start in 2022 by going 5-for-22 in his first five games. However, he slugged his first home run of the season on Tuesday night and was a first-time All-Star last year when he slashed .302/.390/.522 with 24 home runs, 90 RBI, 93 runs scored and five stolen bases in 646 plate appearances over 159 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
