Shane McClanahan Takes Loss Wednesday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan took the loss Wednesday against Oakland, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out eight batters. All the damage came in the form of a three-run home run off the bat of Sean Murphy, spoiling an otherwise dominant performance. Through two outings, McClanahan has a 3.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 15 strikeouts in nine innings, numbers that illustrate his considerable upside. The challenge for fantasy managers will be how early the Rays tend to remove their starters, as wins and quality starts may be harder to come by for the lefty.
