3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin allowed three runs across 6 1/3 innings to pick up his first win of the season Thursday at Tampa Bay. Irvin allowed five hits and didn't allow a walk, though he only picked up two strikeouts. The 28-year-old lefty was solid at times for Oakland last season as he pitched to a 4.24 ERA across 178 1/3 innings, however, a minuscule 16.3% strikeout rate severely limits his upside in fantasy. Irvin is a matchup-dependent streamer in deep leagues, though he does get a favorable draw at home against the Orioles next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
