3 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon and first baseman Jared Walsh are not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. Walsh and outfielder Brandon Marsh are sitting for the second straight game against a left-handed pitcher. Jack Mayfield is at the hot corner and is hitting cleanup, while Matt Duffy is starting at first for the second straight day and batting fifth against Rangers southpaw Martin Perez. Although he has a homer and three RBI in his first eight games, Rendon is off to a slow start with just five hits in 27 at-bats. Walsh has sat against three of the four lefties the Angels have faced in the early going, so a true platoon is developing between him and Duffy at the cold corner.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
