3 years agoThe Colorado Rockies placed second baseman/outfielder Garrett Hampson (hand) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a bruised right hand and recalled infielder Colton Welker from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Hampson has played in only three games so far this year, going 1-for-9 with a stolen base, two walks and two strikeouts in 12 plate appearances. It's unclear when he suffered the bruised hand. Brendan Rodgers will start at the keystone once again on Sunday and hit sixth against Chicago Cubs left-hander Drew Smyly. Welker will serve as infield depth for Colorado after hitting .189 with no home runs and two RBI in his first 40 major league plate appearances in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
