Fernando Tatis Jr. Returns To Light Baseball Activities
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (wrist) took an important step in his recovery from a fractured left wrist on Monday when he made throws across the diamond for about 30 minutes prior to the game against the Cincinnati Reds. Tatis had surgery on March 16 to fix a fractured scaphoid bone in his left wrist. The surgery came with a recovery timetable of roughly three months. He's yet to be able to put a glove on his fielding hand and is currently wearing a brace. Tatis said that he thinks he's ahead of schedule, but the Padres won't know whether that's the case until he starts swinging a bat. Until he returns, Ha-Seong Kim and prospect CJ Abrams will continue splitting time at shortstop.
