3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been rehabbing his throwing shoulder away from team facilities, per his surgeon's instructions. With the team's offseason workouts beginning on Tuesday, he will not be there. The 30-year-old Garoppolo has been a lightning rod for criticism during his time in San Francisco despite reaching the NFC Championship game or better in his only two healthy seasons. In 2021, he threw for 3,810 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 15 starts. While we do not know exactly how his shoulder is recovering after his surgery, any rehab activity at all is good news to revive his declining trade value heading into next week's draft. Garoppolo's expected successor, quarterback Trey Lance, is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks for fantasy heading into 2022. The sooner Lance is named the unquestioned starter, the sooner his average draft position is likely to skyrocket.--Dessy John
