3 years agoCarolina Panthers offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said "yes" when asked if quarterback Sam Darnold was the starter, but he later backtracked and said "that is something I shouldn't have said." The Panthers have failed in their attempt to upgrade over Darnold this offseason, but they're fully expected to address the position in next week's draft. They could also still end up trading for Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo before or after the draft. As of right now, Darnold is the team's starter, but he'll certainly have to earn the starting job in training camp after a disappointing and injury riddled first year in Carolina in 2021. P.J.
