3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed right-hander Matt Manning (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to April 17. In a corresponding move, right-hander Angel De Jesus was recalled from Triple-A Toledo. Manning will miss at least one turn through the rotation, but it remains to be seen if he'll need a lengthy minor league rehab assignment once he resumes throwing. The Tigers haven't named a replacement for Manning in the starting rotation, but relief pitcher Drew Hutchison could be stretched out for a starting role. The 24-year-old Manning had allowed two earned runs while walking none and striking out four over eight innings in his first two starts of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
