Miles Mikolas Turns In Another Strong Start Monday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas took a no-decision despite a strong start in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Mets. Mikolas pitched 7 scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk with five strikeouts. He was in line for the win, heading into the ninth with a two-run lead, but the Cardinals' bullpen imploded for a five-run top of the inning. The 33-year-old has gotten off to a surprisingly solid start this season, going 1-0 with a 1.21 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 22 1/3 IP. Mikolas has never been a huge fantasy asset, but he could be worth a look in deeper leagues, as he is currently just 47 percent rostered. His next matchup will be a favorable one against the Diamondbacks at home, making him an even more attractive waiver wire option.
