Kenny Pickett Stays In Pittsburgh, Taken By Steelers
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett with the 20th overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday. Pickett becomes the first quarterback taken in this year's draft, and he won't have to leave the city of Pittsburgh as he heads to the NFL. He is probably the most pro-ready signal-caller in this year's weaker class of QBs, and he's often been criticized for his small hands. The Steelers are now set for a quarterback competition this summer between Pickett and Mitchell Trubisky, who was added in free agency. Pickett threw for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his final year at Pittsburgh, and he can also run a little. The 23-year-old won't be an option for those in redraft leagues, even if he's starting in 2022, and his overall ceiling in the NFL seems limited.
