Joey Gallo Not Playing Sunday
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo (groin) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals. Gallo said he wasn't concerned at all about the left groin injury that caused him to leave Saturday's game in the fifth inning, but he's out of the lineup for the series finale on Sunday against southpaw Daniel Lynch. The 28-year-old left-hander should be back in the team's lineup for their next game, and he could even enter the game as a pinch-hitter on Sunday. Gallo has two home runs in his first 21 games, but he's only driven in three runs, has struck out 29 times and is hitting .180 (11-for-61). Miguel Andujar is in left field and is hitting seventh on Sunday against Lynch. Andujar has just one at-bat for the Yanks this year after starting the year in the minors.
