3 years agoThe New York Yankees optioned infielder Miguel Andujar and right-hander Clarke Schmidt to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday to get the team down to a 26-man roster for Monday. Andujar went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday, while Schmidt earned the win after throwing a scoreless sixth inning. Schmidt will likely be stretched out in the minors, while Andujar will continue to provide versatile infield depth if he's recalled by the Yankees at any point. Andujar has played in just two games for the Yankees this year and is 2-for-5 with a run scored. Schmidt has allowed just one earned run while walking four and striking out eight in 8 1/3 relief innings over four appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
