Texans Pick Up Fifth-Year Option For Tytus Howard
3 years agoThe Houston Texans picked up the fifth-year option for versatile offensive lineman Tytus Howard on Monday, according to a source. Howard has started multiple games at left tackle, right tackle and left guard since he was taken 23rd overall by the Texans in 2019 out of Alabama State. The 25-year-old isn't a great run-blocker, but he offers decent pass protection and gives Houston plenty of options for their offensive line. Howard is expected to move back to right tackle, his best position, this year after the team selected guard Kenyon Green in the first round this year. Howard will be guaranteed $13.2 million in 2023.
