Ravens Use UFA Tender On Justin Houston
3 years agoThe Baltimore Ravens applied the rarely used unrestricted free-agent tender on outside linebacker Justin Houston on Monday. It means that if Houston signs with a new team before July 22 or the first day of training camp, he would count towards the compensatory pick formula. If Houston doesn't sign by then, the Ravens would have exclusive negotiating rights. The four-time Pro Bowler with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2012-15 had 34 tackles (19 solo), six tackles for loss, 17 QB hits, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 15 starts in his first season in Baltimore. Houston is no longer an IDP option for fantasy managers, but he can still be an effective pass-rusher while providing a veteran presence on defense.
