Alex Faedo To Make MLB Debut Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo, the team's No. 16 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be the Tigers 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates and will make his major league debut in Game 2. Faedo underwent Tommy John surgery in 2019 and didn't pitch at all the last two seasons. The 26-year-old has allowed just three earned runs while walking three and striking out 20 in 15 2/3 innings for Single-A Lakeland and Triple-A Toledo this year over four outings (two starts). The former first-round pick has plenty of upside at the next level, but it wouldn't be a surprise if Detroit sends him back down to the minors after his spot start against Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
