Chiefs, Orlando Brown Expected To Begin Extension Talks
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs and left tackle Orlando Brown are expected to begin negotiations on a long-term contract extension in the near future. The Chiefs placed the franchise tag on Brown this offseason, which will pay him $16.6 million in 2022, but the two sides have until July to work out an extension. Kansas City acquired Brown from the Baltimore Ravens in a trade before last year's draft, and he was a stabilizing presence on quarterback Patrick Mahomes' blind side in his first year with the team, allowing just four sacks on 715 offensive snaps. Brown is going to be seeking more than $20 million per year on an extension with the Chiefs.
