Browns May Need To Keep Baker Mayfield
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield remains in limbo regarding his future, specifically, where he'll be playing moving forward. However, with the former Sooner guaranteed $18.8 million this season, there may not be many teams looking to add him to the roster, even the clubs desperate for a signal-caller. With the two-year suspension of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer for sexual assault allegations, Roger Goodell may be forced to increase the length of Deshaun Watson's potential punishment to avoid public scrutiny, potentially keeping him out longer than expected. As a result, it's conceivable to believe Mayfield could be starting some of, if not all, the games for the Browns this season. He's proven to be a capable fantasy quarterback at times over the years. Amari Cooper is also now on the roster, so Mayfield is someone to keep an eye on heading into the 2022-23 campaign, even more so since he'll be motivated to be productive.
