Jack Flaherty To Throw Bullpen Saturday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-hander Jack Flaherty (shoulder) will throw his first bullpen session on Saturday. Flaherty was shut down in March with discomfort in his throwing shoulder and received a platelet-rich plasma injection shortly thereafter. The 26-year-old will be permitted to throw all of his pitches during the bullpen session, giving hope that he could be closer to going on a rehab assignment than expected, although his timeline for a return to the field is still unclear. Flaherty was excellent in 2021, posting a 9-2 record, 3.22 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts across 78 1/3 innings of work.
