Javonte Williams, Melvin Gordon III To Split Carries Again
3 years agoDenver Broncos running backs Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III will again split carries in 2022. Last year, Williams and Gordon each finished with 203 carries, with Williams rushing for 903 yards and Gordon rushing for a team-high 918 yards. With quarterback Russell Wilson now in town, the Broncos aren't looking to become a run-first offense. Williams is expected to take slightly more carries this season, but head coach Nathaniel Hackett has promised to keep the RBs busy. Hackett also said that third-stringer Mike Boone will have at least some role in the offense as well. Both Williams and Gordon should remain fantasy relevant, especially with Wilson now under center, but Williams' potential for a huge ceiling evaporated when Denver re-signed Gordon to share the workload.
