Shane Baz To Throw Live Batting Practice
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane Baz (elbow) will reportedly face batters on Monday in live batting practice, according to manager Kevin Cash, MLB.com's Adam Berry reports. Baz previously had arthroscopic surgery in late March. Per Berry, "The hope has been that Baz will be ready when he's eligible to come off the injured list on June 6." The 22-year-old pitched to a 2.03 ERA and a 4.07 FIP in three starts, spanning 13 1/3 innings at the Major League level last season, striking out 18 batters while walking just three.
