Jon Gray Removed With Knee Soreness
3 years agoUpdating a previous report, Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jon Gray (knee) was removed from his start early on Monday against the New York Yankees for precautionary reasons with left knee soreness. He will be re-evaluated on Tuesday. It's a tough one for Gray and any fantasy managers that were brave enough to start him against the Bronx Bombers, as he struck out four over 4 1/3 scoreless innings before departing. The 30-year-old right-hander felt something in his knee while fielding a bunt early in the game. It remains to be seen if Gray will be able to make his next scheduled start, but we'll have a better idea after the Rangers look at him on Tuesday. Coming into Monday's start, Gray had allowed 10 earned runs on 11 hits while walking four and striking out 11 in 12 innings in his first three starts for the Rangers.
