Jelani Woods To Back Up Mo Alie-Cox
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts third-round rookie tight end Jelani Woods will occupy the second Y tight end spot behind Mo Alie-Cox in his rookie season. The Colts think Woods' blocking is fairly refined and will bank on quarterback Matt Ryan to catch him up as a receiver to even a fraction of the way he did for Kyle Pitts in Atlanta last year. Kylen Granson is the one true F tight end on the roster, and he'll get a chance to grow as a receiver with Ryan under center. Woods is a beast at 6-foot-7, 259 pounds, and he can also run, but with both Alie-Cox and Granson in the picture following Jack Doyle's retirement, it's unlikely that Woods will produce much in his first NFL season.
