Shed Long Jr. Begins Rehab Assignment
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles infielder Shed Long Jr. (leg) has started a minor league rehab assignment with Single-A Delmarva. Long has yet to play this year while fighting through a lower leg injury. The 26-year-old played in 34 games for the Seattle Mariners last year and had a slash line of just .198/.258/.360 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base in 111 at-bats. He won't be guaranteed a major league roster spot in Baltimore once he's healthy. In his three major league seasons with the Mariners, Long has hit .216/.284/.376 with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, 44 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 110 total games.
