3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Edmundo Sosa is expected to start his minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Tuesday, and he will bat leadoff. Sosa was placed on the COVID-19 injured list on May 3, and he'll likely need at least a few minor league games before the Cardinals are comfortable returning him to the major leagues. Before coming down with the virus, the 26-year-old had gone 4-for-25 with one stolen base and 12 strikeouts in 10 games for the Cardinals. Once he's ready to return to the big leagues, he'll split time at the 6 with Paul DeJong.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
