Seiya Suzuki Scratched With Ankle Soreness
3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (ankle) was scratched from the starting lineup on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres with lingering right ankle soreness. He will be available off the bench, though. Catcher Yan Gomes will now serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth against Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger. Suzuki left Monday's game with ankle soreness, but it doesn't seem to be a major concern and fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Hopefully the 27-year-old is able to return soon, as he's hitting a respectable .247 with an .833 OPS, four home runs, 16 RBI and a stolen base in his first 93 major league at-bats. Gomes is hitting only .222 with a homer and two RBI, and fantasy managers can find better low-cost DFS plays Tuesday night.
