Zack Wheeler To Start Against Dodgers On Thursday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler will return from the COVID-19 injured list and start on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. Wheeler went on the COVID list over the weekend, and he'll be on more than a week of rest after contracting the virus. The 31-year-old right-hander went a season-high 7 2/3 innings in his last start on May 4 against the Texas Rangers, but the Phillies might have him on more of a short leash in his return, and the matchup is poor from a fantasy perspective. Wheeler has allowed 12 earned runs on 24 hits while walking nine and striking out 25 in his first five starts over 26 1/3 innings. It's not the start his fantasy managers envisioned, but his 3.06 FIP points to better times ahead.
