2 years agoTexas Rangers reliever Joe Barlow threw a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday to preserve the club's 3-1 win over the Royals. He struck out one batter in the frame while working around a single and a walk to pick up his sixth save in as many chances this season. The right-hander has now strung together eight-straight scoreless appearances to bring his ERA to 1.59 and his WHIP to 0.79 with a 14/3 K/BB though 11 1/3 IP. Although his club may not produce an abundant amount of save opportunities in 2022, Barlow can still post admirable year-end numbers as the clear closing options for the Rangers.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
