3 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston (knee) said he plans to be ready for the Week 1 regular season opener on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. "Coach, if you needed me to strap it on right now, I'd be ready to go," Winston told former Lions and 49ers coach Steve Mariucci on Thursday. The 28-year-old tore his left ACL last year and was only able to play in seven games, throwing for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Hopefully Winston can remain productive and avoid turnovers with new head coach Dennis Kelly taking over, and he'll have the chance to be even better with the return of wide receiver Michael Thomas and with the addition of first-round pass-catcher Chris Olave.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
