John Metchie III Agrees To Terms With Houston
3 years agoFormer Alabama wide receiver John Metchie III (knee) agreed to terms with Houston on Friday night. He will receive a four-year contract that will pay him $8.07 million and includes a $3.049 million signing bonus. Metchie was a potent option for the Crimson Tide at the collegiate level, and he finished the 2021 season by accumulating 96 catches for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns. He did tear his left ACL during the SEC Championship in December, which caused his stock to plummet ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Metchie expects to be ready for training camp, although he may miss a significant portion of the 2022-23 campaign. Nonetheless, if he can stay healthy during his career, he has all the talent in the world to be considered an elite wideout moving ahead. He may not be a hot commodity for fantasy managers in redraft formats, but he'll likely draw plenty of interest in dynasty leagues. There's also a great chance Metchie will become a coveted waiver option once he gets on the field.
