Matt Corral Motivated By Draft Slide
3 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Matt Corral stated the chip on his shoulder "got even bigger" after being overlooked by multiple teams during the NFL Draft. While some projections had him going as early as the first round, his name was never called. Instead, the 23-year-old was selected in the third round by Carolina, going 94th overall. Corral had a successful career at Ole Miss, and he finished his final season at the collegiate level by throwing 3,349 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five picks. Still, Sam Darnold remains the starting quarterback, with the team also not ruling out the possibility of adding a veteran signal-caller. However, Corral may eventually get some snaps during the 2022-23 campaign, although he shouldn't do much for fantasy managers in redraft formats.
