3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers recalled right-hander Alex Faedo from Triple-A Toledo on Monday in order for him to start in the series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. In corresponding moves, the Tigers placed outfielders Austin Meadows (illness) and Victor Reyes (quadriceps) on the 10-day injured list and recalled outfielder Daz Cameron from Toledo. Faedo, the team's No. 16 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be making only his third major league start. In his first two outings this year, the 26-year-old right-hander allowed four earned runs on 12 hits while walking three and striking out eight in 10 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Oakland Athletics. The Rays will be a tougher opponent, but Faedo also lines up for a two-start week if he isn't sent back to the minors after his start on Monday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
