Brandon Lowe Heads To Injured List
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a lower back injury. Lowe was scratched from a game on Saturday and wasn't in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers, and now we know why. With Lowe on the shelf, infielder Isaac Paredes will be called up from Triple-A Durham. There will be more clarity on a timetable for Lowe after he undergoes more tests on Monday. The 27-year-old was hitting only .212 (25-for-118) in 32 games, but he did have five home runs, a league-leading two triples, five doubles, 12 RBI and a stolen base. Vidal Brujan is starting at the keystone on Monday and is hitting fifth against Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo.
