2 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Strahm earned the win in Monday night's 6-3 victory over the Houston Astros, throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. He allowed one hit. Strahm has been the strongest member of the Boston bullpen so far this year, recording a 2.13 ERA and 0.71 WHIP with 14 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings. With the closer situation heavily in flux, Strahm could stand to inherit the role at some point. He already has one save and three holds to his name in 15 appearances, and manager Alex Cora seems bound to recognize that Strahm might just be his best ninth-inning option, though Hansel Robles earned the save in this one.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
